Machetes and Brushing Tools

There probably isn't a surveyor alive who hasn't used a machete at one time or another.  Here you can stock up on quality machetes (these are the ones I've used for years) for excellent prices.  Compare to your local survey supply store!

Chainsaws

We all know that a good, gas-powered chainsaw can be a surveyor's best friend.  When a machete just isn't getting the job done, it's time to pull out the heavy artillery!  A Weed Eater can be wonderful for clearing fields of blackberries, a must in the Pacific Northwest!

Poison Oak / Poison Ivy Treatments

One well-known hazard of brushing line is our old nemesis, Poison Ivy or Poison Oak, depending on the part of the country you live in.  These treatments are a must for your crew vehicles and first aid kits.  Our field crews exclusively use Zanfel, a relatively new product on the market.  They have reported that after coming down with poison oak, even in severe cases (not in the bloodstream), used Zanfel, and the itching disappeared for good almost immediately.  Wow.  They didn't have anything like that when I was in the field!  For those of you that prefer naturopathic remedies, we've included those as well.
