Johann has asked me
for a long time to share some information regarding my experiences
with psychology and social work
and I have finally taken his requests into action...
PSYCHOLOGY
Ever since I was a young teenager, I decided that I wanted to be a
Psychologist or Lawyer. As I turned a bit older, I watched Perry
Mason too much and realized that my "calling" was really being
able to help people through direct interactions and therapeutic
relationships. When I came to the US, I pursued my
undergraduate education in Psychology because I knew that I wanted
to have a career within such a field. I started the undergraduate
program in Psychology at Washington State University in Vancouver,
and if you visit our
Psychology Page you can read more about my experience
with the program and further information about the field
itself.
SOCIAL WORK
As you can see if you visited our Psychology Page, my educational
path took a different turn, and I decided to go after my Master's
Degree in Social Work for several reasons. I was fortunate to find
out that I could accomplish what I wanted to do professionally
with an MSW degree, and so my journey has brought me to my final
year in graduate school at Portland State University. If you visit
our Social Work Page
, you can read about my experience with the program and
additional information about Social Work.
